One of our favourite things to do is spend time outdoors. Hua Hin has a great range of children's activities to offer in this regard.

Best Fun is on The Beach

Definitely one of the best things to do for kids in Hua Hin are the sandy beaches. Beaches in Hua Hin are long, sandy, wide and with a very mild slope down to the sea. Perfect for children.

Our favourite beaches are Hua Hin Beach and Khao Takiap Beach, but we do occasionally go to the beautiful Sai Noi Beach.

Amazing National Parks Near Hua Hin

We enjoy taking the children on hikes to forests and national parks, which are actually plenty around Hua Hin. One of our favourite and very peaceful places to go for a walk with the kids is the mangrove forest Pranburi Forest Park. In the forest, you will find a wooden walkway from where you can admire the colourful crabs and luscious greenery of the mangroves. One of the attractions of Pranburi Forest is a boat cruise through the mangroves.

Another peaceful spot ideal for a walk is the small park on Hin Lek Fai hill with a lookout point over Hua Hin and the Cha-Am Forest Park, inhabited by gibbons.

Take a trip with kids to one of the prettiest sights in Thailand, which is Bueng Bua Lotus Pond in the Sam Roi Yot National Park. Here you can enjoy a walk along a long wooden footbridge or take a boat ride across the lake.

If walking and a cruise on the lake is still not enough for your active and energetic children, you can go to the beautiful Phraya Nakhon Cave located in the same park. Trekking to the cave requires rather good fitness.

From Sam Roi Yot it is close to Kui Buri National Parkwhere you can spot wild elephants during a fantastic safari. The kids will definitely be thrilled by the ride!

On the other hand, about an hour's drive from Hua Hin lies Kaeng Krachan National Parkwhere you can admire herds of butterflies or hike to the Pala-U and Pha Nam Yot Waterfall

Looking for More Things to Do in Hua Hin with Kids? Go Wild at The Water Park

What other things to do in Hua Hin with children? Definitely go to the water park. There are two water parks in Hua Hin. We tried out both places and highly recommend them!

Keep in mind that playing for a couple of hours even during a cloudy day in Thailand could result in sunburn. Therefore, it is a good idea to dress yourself and your children in sun protecting bathing suit with long sleeves.

Vana Nava Water Jungle Park

Vana Nava Water Jungle

We often visit the  Vana Nava Water Jungle located in Nong Kae next to the Holiday Inn hotel.

We really like Vana Nava because it is a well arranged and organised park with a very attentive staff. The lifeguards keep an eye on safety and immediately alert to inappropriate behaviour. There are life jackets in the park that you can take and wear if you need one.

Vana Nava is divided into zones according to age and height:

  • Kid Zone Vana Wonderland - is a safe water playground with numerous slides and swings for the youngest children
  • Family Zone with Lazy River, Kiddie Cove and The Rain Fortress is a zone for families
  • Adventure Zone with climbing wall, rope climbing and Surf Zone
  • Adult Rides - these include six giant slides where admission is for adults and children of a certain height.

Admission to the park is for the whole day. Everyone receives a bracelet, which is also used to open lockers and for payment within the park.

At the park, you will find a swimming accessories shop, a changing room with lockers and showers, a canteen and food stalls with various treats. Meals at the buffet are varied and pretty tasty. Fruits, beverages and ice creams are included. In addition to the buffet, you can buy typical fast food in the park.

If you stay in Hua Hin for a long term, it may be worth buying an annual pass to the water park and keeping track of promotional ticket prices. Ticket prices depend on the package and extras such as buffet inclusive, VR slide, locker.

Skate Park in Hua Hin

Hua Hin Skate Park is part of the project carried out by the famous Thai actress and artist, Patravadi Mejudhon. The skate park is located on the grounds of Patravadi School and is open to the public. Next to the park is a very pleasant area with some benches and tables along with the Head Rock Skate Shop café.At the café you may rent or buy skateboards and equipment. You can also come with your own gear.

Skateboards and rollerblades are allowed in the park, while bicycles and scooters can only be ridden until 6pm. I used to come to the skate park often with my children after school and I highly recommend this place as an interesting and completely free attraction for kids in Hua Hin.

Ethic Venue to Encounter Elephants, Monkeys and Tigers

We educate our children to be conscious and responsible travellers, which is why we avoid so-called elephant sanctuaries and places where wild animals are treated like puppets to take photos with.

Instead, we opt for places where the animals receive adequate support and living conditions. Such a place is Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, which is only an hour's drive from Hua Hin.

Eat and Play at Parrotdise Farm

Parrotdise Organic Farm & Cafe Hua Hin is a farm that was set up by a local family of four to other families. We've followed Parrotdise from the very beginning and it's really been a pleasure to witness how it has grown. The owners are full of passion and their optimism and creativity is infectious.

What can you find on the farm at Parrotdise? Relaxation space, a children's playground and a restaurant. The restaurant serves meals made from the farm's own vegetables and also offers handmade pasta. For dessert, you can have tasty homemade cake. All of this is surrounded by stunning countryside and colourful parrots flying freely.

There are also animals on the farm who are given a great environment. Our children love it here and love coming back to say hello again to Coco the cockatoo and collect eggs from the hens.

PS. Panya bakes sensational cakes and pies. And I really like the local green curry, which is delicious.

Kids-Friendly Cafés and Restaurants in Hua Hin

There is no better feeling for a parent than being able to hang out in a café where kids are welcome and entertained. Luckily, there are quite a few such places in Hua Hin.

Zabwer is a restaurant serving Western and Thai dishes. Here you can dine in peace while the children are busy playing in the large and sheltered playground.

An extra highlight is the traditional bamboo gazebos (sala) where you eat your food.

Restauracje i kawiarnie dla dzieci w Hua Hin

Memory House Cafe resembles a place out of a fairy tale in its scenery. The white, wooden Scandinavian-style buildings stand out against the colourful grass. Around the café, there are swings and photo spots everywhere. Children are likely to enjoy the refreshments, which are served here with bear-shaped jelly on top. The place attracts real crowds, so it's best to come here in the middle of the week.

At Little Blues Crafts & Cafe you can have a delicious smoothie and some tasty cake. Besides, in the cafe area, you can enter the cactus garden, go to the pineapple field and take a photo in front of the pineapple house. A very pleasant place to drop by at least for a while when you are nearby or passing through.

Scoop Beach Cafe is a café located in a scenic location by the hill on Khao Takiap beach, serving delicious waffles, smoothies and ice cream. There is also a swing for children next to the café.

Educational Activities for Kids in Hua Hin

Parents coming to Hua Hin with their children for an extended period of time are often looking for a school or nursery, where you can enrol your child for a few weeks or months. Schools and pre-schools located at the schools are not likely to accept children for such a short period of time for various reasons, but you can find English-language classes for children of all ages. Options available include:

What to Do in Hua Hin with Kids When it Rains

When it's raining or you just need a break from the heat, you can go to the Bluport shopping centre or Market Village. In both malls you will find a good selection of restaurants, food courts, shops and a cinema.

The Market Village has an entertainment area on the third floor with gaming machines and a playground Playland Kidz

You can leave your children or accompany them. Children under one year or under 80 cm have free admission to the playground.

Playland Kidz gets crowded at weekends and with younger children it is better to keep them accompanied. We much prefer to visit Playland during the week if we have the opportunity.

Hua Hin with Kids - a Useful Guide to The City

Getting Around Hua Hin with a Baby in Stroller

Hua Hin is quite manageable when it comes to getting around with small children in buggies. The pavements in the centre of Hua Hin are rather wide and quite even. In addition, you can reach almost the beach itself in many places with a baby stroller.

However, if you plan to do a lot of outdoor tours with toddlers, consider taking a baby carrier. It will certainly come in handy.

Where to Buy Baby Supplies in Hua Hin

Hua Hin is a town with many well-stocked markets where you can buy baby food and baby care products, clothing, toys and stationery.

When looking for baby food and hygiene products, it is best to head to Gourment Market in Bluport, Tesco Lotus in Market Village, or Villa Market. Bluport and Market Village are also suitable places to shop for clothes and stationery.

Medical Care

There are three hospitals and many private clinics in Hua Hin, so in terms of access and quality of medical care, we feel looked after. We usually go to Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin, which has a paediatric clinic, and the BeWell Clinic.
